FEAR

A couple of years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world, the secret of his success – “Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.”
This is the man who discovered electricity- you’d think we’d listen to what he had to say.

I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I would say it has a lot to do with fear-fear of failure, pain and possibly rejection.

Sometimes it’s just a fear of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong, maybe you’re making a mistake that you can’t undo.

A stitch in time-saves nine, he who hesitates is lost. We can’t pretend we haven’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, the sayings. We’ve even the heard the philosophers and the damn poets wax eloquent on the issue. Some of us have also heard it from our grandparents.

Still sometimes, we have to see for ourselves.
"Most people learn by observation, and there are the few who learn by experimentation. And then there are those who actually TOUCH the fire to see if it's really hot."

We have to make our own decisions. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep the day’s probability under tomorrow’s rug. Until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering. That waking is better than sleeping.

And that the biggest failure- the most intractable mistake beats the hell out of not trying.
